Binn Eco Park – Electricity and heat from municipal waste

13/11/2023

Paprec Energies Binn Ltd. is currently building a combustion line to extend the Binn Eco Park waste recovery centre at Glenfarg near Perth (Scotland). Our French partner PAPREC and Scottish waste management company Binn Group form a joint venture for operating the plant for a period of 10 years following its completion. Start-up is planned for 2026.

The annual combustion capacity amounts to 85,000 t of municipal waste from the Perth and Kinross council area. The energy released is used for generating electricity and to meet the site's heat re-quirements. What is more, it is also planned to heat grow tunnels for growing fruit and vegetables.

MARTIN will supply a reverse-acting grate Vario with 2 runs and a throughput of 11.5 t/h. The plant will be equipped with the combustion control system with infrared pyrometer (CC-IPC).
